Heather MacAlpine, Justice B.A. Cum Laude ’12, has been hired as the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) Associate Ombudsman. Heather is a former research technician at the Justice Center. She is also a member of
Alpha Phi Sigma, the national criminal justice honor society.
The
Ombudsman's Office was established in addition to other remedies or rights of appeal, as an independent, impartial municipal office, readily available to the public, responsible to the Assembly, empowered to investigate the acts of Municipal agencies and Anchorage School District, and to recommend appropriate changes toward the goals of safeguarding the rights of persons and of promoting higher standards of competency, efficiency, and equity in the provision of municipal services. Darrel Hess is the MOA Ombudsman.
