Members of the Justice Center faculty and staff participated in the "Have a Heart: UAA Collection Boxes" and the "Bean-a-Fit" activities as part of the UAA Day of Service on February 10, 2011.Boxes (pictured above) were decorated and filled by faculty and staff with personal necessities for distribution to the community through Covenant House and Bean's Cafe.
The UAA Assembly organized an annual UAA Day of Service in response to Chancellor Ulmer's challenge to the UAA Community first made in 2009 to consider how we might all serve. Thursday, February 10 was designated as the 2011 day of service. Suggested ways of participating included serving at the February 10 Bean-a-Fit lunch on campus, contributing a box of personal necessities, or bringing new gloves and socks to the basketball games that evening.
