Prof. Jason Brandeis, J.D. and Dr. Cory R. Lepage, Justice faculty, were among the law and society scholars affiliated with West Coast U.S. and Canadian institutions invited to attend the Fifth West Coast Law and Society Retreat at the University of Washington in Seattle in September. The purpose of the retreat was to discuss: (1) substantive questions emerging at the leading edges of the law and society field, (2) the state of the field as an academic discipline, and (3) the role of law and society scholarship in identifying and shaping dialogue around new legal challenges.
